What's This? Bat Phone Antennae?
I have the bat phone option. Pictured below is what I assumed to be the phone antennae. It is attached in the upper right corner of the windshield, and its cable runs down the rubber window trim and disappears into the dash. In tracing the cable to where it comes out below the dash, it seems to go down under the carpet, not to the back of the phone console. Also, the markings on the cable attached to the Mistery Object are not the same as the cable that plugs into the phone holster thing, tho they look like the same type of cable, some kind of shielded coax. Anyway, what is this thing, and can i get rid of it?
TIA!

Three Wheelin'
Looks kinda aftermarket / lo_tek to me. It looks like the back of an antenna for a cell phone, there would be a whip antenna on the facing side of the glass. maybe it was removed.. I'd just yank that crap out!

Yes, that is the batphone antenna but it normaly has the coax going the other way. I had the same thing with my batphone and I ripped it off the second I bought the car.

Thanks, guys. Out it comes!
Mike, why do you want the bat phone console? What are you planning to put in it? I'm still trying to figure out exactly what I want to do with mine.

BTW Bruce, the transceiver part of the batphone is under the passenger foot pad.
you can ripped that out too and there's a speaker behind the glovebox.

If you search this forum, there are a number of new installations that use the phone console--including GPS/Nav installs, engine gauges, etc. Some are pretty cool.
You can also use one of these ( http://www.aircraftspruce.com/catalo.../airgizmos.php ) with a Garmin 296/396/496 GPS for a flush, yet portable/removable Nav install.
