Default Readiness codes - How to read them?

Read a lot about readiness codes. There are eight of them listed by lorenfb. My friend connected an OBDII reader to my 96 993 and read no fault codes at all. We have no idea how to read the readiness codes.

How do you read them with an ODBII reader?
What do you see if the states are not set or set?
Some pics will be great help.

The eight readiness codes By Lorenfb:
- Three Way Catalytic Converter (TWC) Efficiency
- Fuel Tank Ventilation (EVAP)
- Secondary Air Injection (SAI)
- Oxygen Sensors
- Oxygen Sensor Heating
- Fuel System (TRIM)
- ECM Faults (DTC)
- Cylinder Misfire

Thanks.

Your OBDII scanner must be capable of reading them, i.e. it must have that function which
some low cost scanners don't have. If it does, then you should see the readiness code option
on a menu.

What he (Loren) said. :-)

The 'most' the low-cost code scanners will say will be something along the lines of:

"ALL on-board readiness codes are complete".

OR

"NOT all on-board readiness codes are complete".

...and then list them, with either an 'OK' or "INC" (inconclusive) beside each one.

do not mix between error codes and readiness codes, even if readiness codes depend
on a no error state
there are 6 diagnosis routines (flags)
do a search for this thread "Finally!! Readiness Codes Ready"
I have posted the porsche bulletin for this, it is highly explanatory

Thanks for the info. My friend's reader must be the cheapest that does not do this at all. Time to find a new one. Will the Harbor Freight reader ($50) mentioned in some threads here does the trick?
