Ruf Sports Seats? Cobra Misanos? Help?
I've been waiting for a year and a half to get my used Ruf seats. It looks like it isn't going to happen. I really want to keep my car 100% Ruf, but paying ~$6500 for a pair of new Ruf seats is beyond my budget. I like the looks of these Cobra Misano seats... note that Rufus has a factory carbon interior package.
What do you guys think? Any think of any seats that more resemble the Ruf Sport Seats? Any short skinny guys ever try the Cobras?
Thanks for any help on this latest project. 1st picture is the Ruf Seats, the other two are the Cobra.

No A8s for Rufus???
Since it sounds like you've decided against the A8s, I'd go for the Cobras hands down. Those things are badass. The only thing I don't like about them is the "cobra" logo (looks too American), but a little upholstery work can fix that!
Also, I agree that Alcantara looks really cool. However it doesn't breathe very well and tends to get rather hot on long rides.

The Cobra misanos are about 1/2 of the Ruf seats... $2800/pair (leather) + sliders.
I haven't ruled out the A8s... I don't know where to get them. Are the A8s kinda wide, and you have to open the door to adjust them? I don't remember.

Steve-
I love the Misanos. I was about to pull the trigger right before I found a pair of original sport seats. If I recall correctly there is no up/ down or tilt adjustment which bothered me because sometimes my wife drives the car and needs to be higher to see over the hood.
Had that not been an issue they would be in my car today.
Good luck

Steve,
I appreciate your need to go "all Ruf", but doesn't Rufus deserve better? Those Cobra seats are the obvious choice. Ruf turbos are a dime a dozen (wait, there goes one outside my window), but how many guys have a Ruf with Cobra seats? The Ruf seats look like tanks anyway....

As for finding a pair of A8s... good luck. They're pretty scarce, but they do pop up now and then. You gotta keep your ear to the ground though. The A8s are fairly wide. My inboard seat adjust **** has trashed my center console (I'll have to get it recovered). And when the door is shut the outboard **** is really close to the door (I can still adjust it, but it's pretty difficult). A fellow RL'er may help me out by fashioning a low-profile **** out of billet aluminum, which would help a great deal. If the ***** worked, all the problems in my life would be solved! Well, at least involving fitting the seats in my car.

Steve,
You can sit in the A-8s in my Ruf this Saturday. As for A-8s, I have a pair sitting in my garage and the Recaro brackets (the last pair stateside for a while) sitting in my front trunk. However, you have to negotiate with our brother to ply them off his hands.
See you in 48 hours.
Oh back to the original question, have you sat in them Cobras yet? They look hard to get in and out of, that's to my untrained eyes, and stiff old geezer back. I'd hold out for Ruf seats if I had Rufus.

Get the ruf seats, they look great. What's a couple thou anyway? IIRC the Cobra seats have some fit problems as well. But they also look great. However, not sure if the Cobras can be ordered with the sub strap hole in them, in case you want a 6 pt. harness.
