Default Cool 993 bits.

I just got a copy of a Japanese magazine/book about the 993. It includes the 993's history, tech specs, variations, special editions, modified examples, buyer's guide, scans of factory catalogs, parts and accessories plus some other interesting stuff.

All the text is in Japanese so I could not understand anything except for some of the tech specs which were in English. Though the numerous photographs made this magazine quite interesting.

Here are pics of some interesting aftermarket stuff for the 993 I found in the magazine: a modified tachometer face, carbon fiber airboxes, front strut bar, wheels, PCCB brakes and an exhaust system (of titanium?) with titanium tips.

Us Japanese like our Porsches! Little over the top sometimes, but you do what you like I suppose.

You can find those parts here..

Chris Walrod had his tach converted on his old yellow car through North Hollywood Speedo a little while back. IIRC, it was around $150.

I've been lusting over those titanium mufflers for some time. I just can't understand why nobody's bought a set yet. Oh wait, now I know: $4,500 for the pair.

Chris,
Definately check with North Hollywood Speedo. See a few examples here: NHS

I believe the wheels are made by "Work," a Japanese manufacturer. As for the airbox, that's interesting I haven't seen that before. Strut brace looks interesting, exhaust looks expensive. Interesting that they have completely different products over there, good find!
