Found these on ebay and was curious if this is really normal wear and tear for PSS9s.

They look like they have been to hell and back to me. Is this typical patina for PSS9s?

They do get discolored and patinad from normal use, but that's really extreme. Mine have gotten pitted in a couple seasons just due to water. I'm guessing this pair was on a daily driver somewhere with salted roads.

That is the worst set I have seen. That must have been off a daily year round driver. I found be afraid too as the dust boots are gone, and with the stuff those have seen I would have doubts on the seals. Lifetime warranty would not apply to a pair like that. In addition, they are the old style PSS9. The new ones have a hat that envelopes the rear shock mount. That is a $450 cost from Bilstein for new ones.

Thanks guys. Don't worry Jason, I have no intention of buying these. To me, some things are best bought new, with shocks being one of them. Just wanted to make sure that this was not an example of what PSS9s might look like after a few years.
