If drilling the holes is the only reason for not doing this right (I don't see why ~$2000 would be the reason for a installation to the 993 TT), there's a pic here somewhere of Chris Walrod's sub mount (mounted to the bar under the seat as I explained earlier, no hole drilling through the bottom needed). I tried to do a quick search but didn't find it...

I sit on my sub-belts (mounted to rear seat mounts). Not very comfortable for the boys. I'll have Recaros before the spring DE.

What made you decide to do that? Have you seen others doing the same? What happens at tech inspection?

As mentioned earlier, the point of the sub belts is to prevent the lap belt from rising up during an impact allowing you to slide under it - or submarine down to the floorboard.

If you are sitting on that belt, it's fighting your body - specifically your twig and berries - to keep the lap belt in place. A racing seat will have a slot in it to allow that belt to come up through that slot into it's proper position with the pressure being applied to the belt mounts (as designed) instead of your crotch.

After further research, read the description:
http://www.safequipracingproducts.co...ems.htm#euros1

This "euro type" harness may work with stock seats.

This seems similar to the "Indy type" and "jet pilot":
http://www.teamtechmotorsports.com/r...s/indycar.html
http://www.teamtechmotorsports.com/r.../jetpilot.html

Read "Mustang Racing Series" spec allowing sitting on anti sub straps and attachment points (Section B.4):
http://www.millermotorsportspark.com...eries%20II.pdf

SCCA (see ITEM 6, #6)
http://www.hmsmotorsport.com/docs/SC...ge2InchLap.pdf

Also, sternum straps should be required with stock seats.

What do you guys think?
