Default Tubi and Ruf exhaust

I did a search and could not find any true description of what these exhausts sound like in terms of quality and intensity. Even the salesman at Champion said that he had never heard a Tubi on a 993! I know descriptions of exhaust notes can be subjective, buth has anyone had any experience with either? Thanks in advance,
Vivek

Vivek,

On which sort of 993? Ruf does all 993 Turbo cars, so the exhaust sound is entirely different than the NA cars. Does the Tubi fit both? What kind of 993 are you thinking of?

I asked the question once about the Tubi on a 993 and one response was that it was awesome. I think the price was around $3k.

Champion quoted me $2,000. Still not cheap, but better than $3K!

Does the include the tips? I think the mufflers were 2k and the tips another $500 if I'm remembering correctly.

That's correct. $2k for the exhaust and another $450 for the tips (the Tubi tips resemble the factory tips so most people order the exhaust alone).

I did finally speak with the sales manager at Champion and he was actually very familiar with the exhaust. He stated the exhaust is about as loud as a PSE on a 996, a bit higher pitched and with a "smoother" rev as opposed to a gargle. It obviously will never sound like my 355 (nor should it) but it does retain some of the Ferrari zing (relatively speaking, of course). At any rate, I'll be finding out soon as I think I'm going to order one.

Can anyone comment on how loud the Ruf is?

If you get it, let us know how it sounds.

Tubi exhaust arrived today...trying to post pics of the unmounted exhaust however the file I'm attaching seems to be too large. They look like good quality overall though! Imagine Auto will be installing them mid-next week with pre and post dyno (although I'm not expecting much of a difference either way). I'll try to post pics and a sound clip once installed!

Hi Vivek,

Try opening your pictures in something like Paintbox and then scale down by 45% and resave. They should then be small enough file sizes to post. Looking forward to the sound clip as well!

Cheers,

David
