Default Wolo Horns

Anyone installed the Wolo electric trumpet horns? Looks like a direct fit replacement with the mounting stud on the back. 118db is the same as the amazing Hella Supertones I've used on other cars, so they should be a good deal louder than the stock trumpets. Hopefully the tone won't be far off.

Hmm--just noticed the packaging says 115db, while the site says 118.

I managed to easily fit the Hella Supertones in my '96 by bending the stock mounting. They are awesome!

The "decibel" number is meaningless without knowing at what distance and with what weighting the measurement was taken, if indeed a measurement was taken at all. I would have to hear a horn in person, side by side with other horns, to guage its sound. I have an air horn (don't know the brand, it's very old) that's very loud but high-pitched. I'd like to find something better. I have the stock trumpets now.

Installed them today. Took a sound meter reading before and after using peak hold for a ~2 sec toot. The meter was approx 4 ft directly in front of the RF corner of the car, about 6" off the ground.

Stock was 107.5 dBA, Wolo is 118.1 dBA. Tone is somewhat lower.

One thing that's weird about the 993--you can barely hear the horn from the inside. On a front engine car with the horn under the hood, you have a much clearer shot from the horn to the driver. So I honk the horn and think, that can't be loud enough to get the other guy's attention.
