I believe 16981 is the Porsche Crest in headrest. I dont know why they used this code on 993s but it seems to be habitual. Let me know if you all of you have the crests and this code.

My previous turbo had the option 'X50', so would expect the option code to be 'X51' for the higher output/larger capacity motor, not 00051.

00051 has nothing to do with the X51 option. I also do not believe it has anything to do with special paint color or paint color from prior model years. I have seen this code on Guards and Black cars. I also dont think has to do with interior carpet/leather deviation because I have seen 00051 on cars with Cashmere/Black and the standard Cashmere carpet and Black leather was indeed as is and not deviated.

I think its a code similar to 09981 and 09991 having to do with Porsche Exclusive routing and does not signify a specific option code at all. Im currently looking at a car with confirmed deviated trunk velour carpeting, but I think that is either option 17061 or 17431. I know 09991 and 09881 typically get triggered on the sticker by the X codes. Im thinking the 00051 is getting triggered by the presence of a Z code option. In the case of the Head Restraints with Porsche Crest, that is option Z53 -- also known as 16981 on the option code sticker.

Let me know if you have 16981 if you also have 00051 in tandem. Based on my theory, if you have the former you also have the latter. But having latter doesnt mean you necessarily have the former -- but you might have a different 1XXXX option.
