Linkage rod pulling out of AJ USA gas pedal

Linkage rod pulling out of AJ USA gas pedal
I have a set of AJ USA aftermarket pedals for my 993. Today was about the 4th time in a year that the little ball at the end of the rod that connects with the gas pedal popped out, causing the pedal to go straight to the floor. This only happens in AX (thank goodness).
To my way of thinking, either the ball at the end of the linkage is too small, or the socket in the pedals is too big. Of course, gentler pedal use couldn't hurt, but I'd rather not be punished for my excess by losing the throttle.
If I grab the pedal with my hand and pull it towards me, I can get it to pop out with a small effort, but I can't simulate banging on or off the gas and produce the same results.
Any ideas on this one?
Thanks,
John
