Default Spoiler Bearing Part Number?

I'm putting together my list of "things to do this winter" (since today is my last drive day with the 993), and one of the items is to replace my spoiler motor bearing so I can return to the days of quiet operation (I've never experienced those quiet days....).

Anyway, I've been referring to the DIY on p-car ( http://p-car.com/diy/spoilerdrive/ ) and also referring to older threads on the subject (such as this one https://rennlist.com/forums/showthre...=boca+bearings ).

However, there seems to be some uncertainty and disagreement as to which sealed bearing to use to replace the OE unsealed beast.

Could someone confirm the size (ID 5mm, OD 16mm, width 5mm) and provide any thoughts on these two, previously-mentioned bearings:

Stainless, Ultra Seals, ABEC #3
http://www.bocabearings.com/main1.as...n=SMR625-UU_#3

Chrome, Rubber Seals
http://www.bocabearings.com/main1.as...07&n=MR625-2RS

I'm inclined to go with the Stainless Steel, Ultra Seal version. Any thoughts/advice?

The part number in the picture below has been fine in my '95 since Jan '05. It's a sealed no-maintenance SKF, and is directly above the bag. Hopefully you can use this part number to get the exact specs. Hope this helps somewhat.

Thanks guys.

This one should be a pretty quick and satisfying DIY. I can't wait to get rid of that grinding noise.

Jeff,
Also check with Viper Bob - that's where I got mine earlier this year.

Ditto - worked like a charm. Although I had a hell of a time getting the spoiler gear housing glued back together. It broke apart 3 times using different epoxys - until Viper Bob recommended JB Weld - I highly recommend using JB Weld.

I always planned on just calling Bob to get the bearing when I needed it. However, with everything he is going through right now, and the fact I need to purchase a lot of minor parts, I thought I would just buy them/it from a larger supplier.

Bob is a great guy and I enjoyed working with him when I was putting the suspension group buy together. But I hate to call him for a bearing.

JB Weld rules! My fan belt sensor had a crack in the little roller arm, and JB Weld made it better than new.

Hey guys, I know I'm resurrecting an old thread but I came across this during a search. My spoiler gearbox isn't too noisy at all right now but I can slightly hear it when I'm at idle during a stop when the spoiler retracts. Thought a bearing replacement would be a good winter project. I noticed that there is one on Ebay, Item # 250190541261

My question is whether part number 625-2Z/+P63 on eBay would work even though the /+P63 is different than the /C3LHT23 shown in the picture above. Any bearing experts on here?

Thanks!
