Default Lotus Elise FS minor damage

I would ask the owner why he took the car to a Goodyear store.

So the issue is that Elises are so tail heavy that the CG is outside the jack points?

You know what is really dumb about this? There are specific lifting points on the Elise because of the likelihood of this happening. Folks that are familiar with the Elise know this. Thus, it would have been prevented if the owner had told the shop this, or gone to a shop familiar with the Elise's characteristics. Dumb, dumb, dumb. With the front clam and rear clam damaged, the car is likely totaled.

Hre is a quote from the owner in the thread;

I handed them the tire tools and opened the Owner's Manual to the jacking instructions so they would be clear. We went over all the instructions and they assured me I was in good hands.

Shop FU$%D up.

But why would you leave it with them? I never leave my pcar unless it is the dealer/pcar shop. I watch the tire guys like a hawk.

Ah...well, the owner did what he should have then. The shop is screwed on this one. It's a very well-known characteristic of the car, and the shop completely blew it. Moral of the story: take your car to a reputable shop familiar with your model.

I would never leave my 993 with a mechanic I didn't know and trust. This guy should have known better than to leave the car with them.

Yep, from what I read his father-in-law is the manager of the shop. Damned if you do, damned if you don't
