I'm glad this thread popped back up. That "Motormouse" looks pretty cool too.

I finished my install and everything went swimmingly. The new strut braces fit fine without having to replace the studs.

I followed 2Many Car's advice and first adjusted the bar to snugness and then cranked down on the stud nuts.

I tightened the lug nuts in stages, up to the specified torque specs, using a pattern from outside in and alternating sides.

Strut bar clears perfectly and fits fine under the trunk mat, as noted by others previously.

Overall impression is that this is a great product -- it probably does about as much as any other strut bar, but on the margin, everything exudes quality, from the finish to the fitment.

Thanks, RL'ers for both the advice on getting this strut brace and on the install!

Can anyone please post a pic of this bar fitted with the carpet back in place.

I'm interested as it's the most sturdy and discrete design I've seen and I don't want to be cutting up the carpet to install.

No pic at the moment, but I can assure you that the carpet fits perfectly. Actually, a bit better, as it sags less. No issues catching all of the snaps & Velcro patches.

Excellent.

I wonder if they will supply to the UK and if it would work out to be financially viable.

Gotta be worth an email.

Thanks

+1 Perfect fit. I'd be hard pressed to tell a factory carpet installed with versus without the strut bar.

Has anyone fitted the new 993 version? Did it fit perfectly without the need to change the studs?

I just mounted a new one last Friday. No need to replace the studs.

No problem -- would take a set of pics but the 993's back in my other parking spots on the other side of the city. If I get a chance to get down there this week, will snap a few off...

Looks like I'm going to have to give this a miss as the shipping is est $125 and I could be hit for another $60 of duty when it arrives in the UK

I managed to arrange shipping myself for around $60 with insurance so have pulled the trigger. Look forward to receiving the brace. There seems to be nothing similar available in the UK so it'll be quite unique

Well it's here and it's on and I love it!!

It's a work of art! Seemed a real shame to cover it back up with the carpet afterward

Thanks for the recommendation guys

Looks great! See that you use a CTEK quick-connect charger too. I have mine set up exactly the same way.
