I've been considering buying a spare considering some member's issues of it failing. Is this a that part? I looked on Pelican Parts but no joy.

Immobilizer

Someone did post the best place for new parts. Was it Sunset? TIA.

 

The eBay item is just an alarm unit and not the immobilizer. Depending on what you have for a model year I think you might even need an 01 unit at the minimum? And considering that 928-618-260-03 has an MSRP of $365.22 and probably sells for half that I wouldn't bother with a used unit of unknown origin (probably crashed and possibly water damaged) sold on eBay.

 

Not sure what/why you're asking- Maybe what you want is a spare battery (and small screwdriver) for the key fob? Many of us keep these in the glove box along with a spare DME relay.

I have the spare battery. I'm looking for a spare immobilizer ECU because I've read horror stories about units failing and leaving them stranded requiring new ECUs. Since I'm a nut I'd like to source a spare to keep in the car. Am I nutz? Probably...
