Porsche PA1000 alarm system
Hi guys. Does anyone know about the porsche PA1000 alarm system?
My 993 is fitted with it. I want to add a pager system to it and so I will need to find a trigger wire I guess - i.e a wire that becomes live when the alarm is triggered.
Any ideas gratefully received!
Cheers
Bob

You should wire your pager on the alarm unit.
The alarm unit has three free auxiliary inputs in slots numbered 11-12-13.
please check the diagnosis bulletin attached, it will clearly guide you
I encourage you to apply for a membership, it comes in handy
Try to state what model year your 993 is, and which version, which country code USA or Rest Of the World car, etc. It would have made my search quicker, but not less enthusiastic
regards

You're a star GEOLAB - thanks for tracking this down for me.
Don't I need an auxiliary output though? So the alarm triggers the pager when it's activiated? As the alarm flashes the indicators - I could maybe wire into that circuit?
Will post piccies and details of my car in the next few days. Its a 1997 C2S, UK spec, only 12K miles - a great find!!
All the best.....

I thought you wanted to do the opposite.
Carjacking is common now, and owners tend to install pagers and mobile phones hooked to the alarm.
When carjacked (robber sticks a gun at you and takes the car with the keys), you can page the alarm unit and shut off the engine every 20 seconds. Off course the robber will use the remote to restart the motor but you will be stopping it every few seconds.
The police find the stolen cars usualy a mile away.
But if they put it on a flatbed hauler, no pager will do but police can trace the mobile phone location.
As for the output, the indicators is a good alternative. The alarm siren is another.
the siren is visible under the transmition tray.

so i too have aftermarket alarm, autopage on my us 95 993. is the factory alarm under the driver's seat? I'd like to toss it because i have to deactivate two alarms now. i went aftermarket because i shaved my door handles, among other things and my new alarm also opens which ever door via actuator. it's trick and killer looking but i don't looks so cool when i cant get my alarms to let me drive away. i can just unplug until i get my dream milano seats by sparco, right?
