Default OT: Up in Anchorage

Salt Lake to Seattle, Seattle to Anchorage, Anchorage to Bethel, Bethel to Anchorage. Tomorrow, Anchorage to Fairbanks, Fairbanks to Anchorage...red eye at 1am from Anchorage to Salt Lake.

Those who havent been to Alaska-visit, its an adventure----need to get my 993 up here!!

Been this exact route a number of times except starting/ending in SoCal. Alaska is my absolute favorite state any time of year. Everyone should visit. Safe trip to you.

Gravel roads getting there... unless you boat it up.

You are spending too many hours at F370... UV getting to you Kidding of course... 744 driver here.

Do you mean the AlCan Highway when you speak of gravel roads? If so, don't remember when exactly, but the route has been paved all the way now, although if you go early in the driving season, you will find sections under repair. When I first did it from Seattle to Fairbanks in '68, it was a bit different - IH Scout, several spare wheels/tires, survival gear.

worked there 4 years in the early 80's, in the 90's took the wifey on a motorhome trip, now i try and get up about once a year i like to "combat" fish the Kenai convluence amongst others, it is heaven on earth
