theft

Why do so many Porsche owners have german Shephards?
I know, they are reliable, love going for a drive, never let you down and are always happy to see you, are very fast and intimidating and no matter how much of a ****ty day you have had, they are always there.
Sounds like my car
JK! Kimber is good iron, but I didn't think you CA people were allowed to own such fine weaponry
X2 a.k.a GlockMeister
i have to chosee between the 9mm SW, the colt 45, the SS winchester or the 223 -rugger mini14 .... uhmmm ....

I also live in one of the most safest neighborhoods in America (Sandy, UT) so that helps. A battery kill switch, immobilzer, locked garage, living in a culdesac, working out of the house, and about all my neighbors dont work or work out of the house equates to safety. Of course, **** happens.
People who leave their cars in the driveways with their garage door openers in them are also much more likely to have things stolen. Bust in the car and instant access to the garage.

The folks that make On-Star for GM used to market an alarm system that incorporated GPS and a cellular system. They were in Dallas...can't seem to find them anymore. With their system, a stolen car could be reported to the police, the police would then know exactly where the car was located, with longitude and latitude...when they got to the car, if it were on the move, they could turn it off...sort of dangerous unless the car were at a stop for one reason or another. It was very expensive, about $1,500.
Here is another approach: http://www.gpstrackit.com/mlu.html
Then there is OnStar...http://www.onstar.com/us_english/jsp...s/services.jsp The downside, you need to buy a GM car to get it....
I keep mine in a garage, alarm on...hope for the best.

The other protection is the always alert GSD. How she knew the exact property line is a mystery. I always would know when someone was close. Nobody ever bothered to ring the doorbell as we all heard her bark.
I don't know if she would go 'nuts" on somebody about the car but several guys were more than a little nervous about delivering stuff to the house. She would protect my wife to the death. Only 75 lbs but full of attitude.
May she RIP...I would like to replace her but how could I?
Of course, Im in it all the time with the door open, porsche back end to the street, Im sure anyone casing the joint could ID at least 5 things from the sidewalk (30 feet away) without detection.
i used to have special forces and military themed bumper stickers on my truck outside, I would like to believe that this might be cause the thefts to think a little bit before breaking in.....
