I am doing the remote key conversion on my 993 as shown on P-car DIY. Smooth sailing geting the electrical chip board and key blank out. Called my local dealship (Kansas City) for the Hand Remote Housing and Lighted Key Cap. P-Car has these parts listed as costing around $17.00 each. The parts desk at my dealer wants $70.95 for the housing and $29.02 for the lighted key cap. Doesn't that seem high???

Can anyone direct me to a source for these items without shipping taking them within 10% of my dealers cost? Porsche-Parts-Direct.com has the lighted key cap, but with shipping it's $25.00 and they don't have the housing.

Help anyone??

 

i didn't do it yet but that's what they told me and the parts numbers are different....

 

I did this last week. It's one of the best and easiest mods you will ever do. Call Sunset Porsche. I believe they're in Oregon. Good service and great price.
