Why is the key (ignition) on the left?

My 993 never had this problem because I had a spacer in the steering wheel. One option is to pull the fuse or install a switch so the wipers don't work unless you flick on a "master" switch.

I'm a firm believer in the "LeMans running start" theory on the key placement. I always carry my Porsche key in my left side pocket... all other car keys are in the right hand pocket.

For the wiper issue... what wipers? Our 911s have wipers?
