Twists for NB
Have searched and know that the rear offset for twists in 10" widths on 18s should be 65. But looking currently at a set that for the front is 7.5" with offsets of 52? the 52 sounds dead on but is the 7.5" what everyone just calls the 8"?

In 1999, Porsche went from 8" fronts on the 993 to 7.5" on the 996. They then changed their minds and went back to 8" in 2002. 225 wide tires fit OK on 7.5" but are not optimum.
NB twists on 993 (both Hollow and Solid spoke) are 8", unless they came from of 1999-2001 996 then they are 7.5". Offsets for NB are ET52mm front and ET65mm rear.

Correcting my earlier post, 993 ET for 8" front is 52, as Dave mentioned. No 7.5" in PET for a 993, either. Dave also mentions that 225's aren't an ideal fit on 7.5", which is correct. If I recall, cabs didn't have 18's as on option from the factory, but I might not remember that detail correctly. Cabrio-do you have the 18" option code listed on the sticker in the trunk?

I will try to get the exact part numbers as well to help clarify the situation. Thanks for the responses! Not sure that I care to go 225 on the front anyway as this is a street car.

My 7.5" fronts have a 993 part number stamped on it. I run 225's on them without any issues and it was the factory wheel size and tire size that came with the car. However, I agree that a 8" wheel would be a better fit to 225's.

My understanding is that the 7.5" wheels maintained a "993" part number. I didn't realize they had a 7.5"X18" option before MY99. I thought Porsche only went to the 7.5" when the 996 was introduced (but kept the "993" part number). But since the offsets are exactly the same they have been interchanged so much it is hard to tell.
Just so I am clear, was there a 7.5X18 inch NB turbo twist wheel option before MY99??? Inquiring minds want to know?
Learned something new!!!
thanks
Dave

FSCCA also posting here with a 97 cab also had the 7.5" factory option.
The wheels came with 993 part numbers on it. I am not sure at what point they started using 8". If they used a 993 part number on 996's then it was a part used on 993's, just like we have many 964 part numbers on our 993's.
