Default What is the difference?

Why some 993 Varioram come with the logo on it while others don't?

The cars with the Varioram logo are slightly slower 0-60 due to the added weight of the logo -- sorry I dont have anything of value to add

Not true. The cars with the Varioram logo are slightly faster over 5K rpms due to the added interior space because the logo is raised.

I think MY 1997 is when the logo was introduced. However, early '97 builds like mine (9/96) don't have it. I'd guess they still had a few non-logo VRs on the shelf and used them.

If the part # is the same between the two units, it's definately the same thing. Kinda doubt that there is s difference or Porsche's marketing dept would have been all over it.

You guys are all wrong. The logo was added in mid-97 to address a slight imperfection in the airflow over the manifold when the spoiler is raised. In addition, the greater surface area serves to dissipate engine heat.

This is only a guess but Porsche received the Varioram trademark in November of 1996. You figure it would have taken a few weeks to make changes to the molds and then maybe a little longer to use up old stock?
