Default AIR LOCK IN GAS TANK

Hi Guys

I'm having problems when refuelling that the pump will click off at about 8 gallons, and I slowly have to manually feed the next two gallons. Maximum fuel I can put in is about 10 to 11 gallons. I'm assuming that it is an airlock, but have no idea how to get rid of it. Any ideas???

Try turning the nozzle upside down. This helps me. Funny how this has helped on all p-cars from my 74, 78 and now my 95 car.

On the top of the fuel system expansion tank there is a shutoff valve, part #964-201-061-00 MSRP $69.89USD that sometimes doesn't operate the way you expect it to (the real fun begins when it doesn't close at all). But even when my shutoff valve was brand-new I had to resort to the same upside-down trick with certain fuel filler nozzles.

you mean, you flip the gaz nozzle upside down for a second and then flip it down again to refuel? i believe you, and will try it next week, but why does that work?

Keep the nozzle upside down the entire time you are filling. Strange, but it works.

Does this happen to you at other gas stations or do you just refuel at one?
For me it happens at some stations. Chris

I found the same thing on all 3 of my Pcars. Turn the handle ( the part you squeeze) towards the center of the hood and fill like that. Seems to work best for me.
