Default How do I remove the gear shift ****

This weekends project is to remove the gearshift **** and re-dye it. It's looking a little worn. How does the **** and leather dust cover come off?

Also the the E-barke lever

Thanks
Jeff

What are you using to re-dye it?

The **** comes off very easily and then pulls off the shaft. Some may have a set screws, some don't. Here is a link to a DIY from Robin's site with pics. scroll down the page a bit.

Enjoy...

I'm using sure-flex. I sent them a sample and they color matched the interior perfectly. The stuff is amazing. Thanks for the link

you may have to really get after that ****, especially if its doesn't have a tightening bolt. basically, you want to work it back and forth while pulling straight up.
