Default Not another Poser!

Well, I couldn't stand it. Had my car up on jack stands, bleeding my slave cylinder. Looked at my brake calipers and one of them looked pretty ratty. So, decided to be different, and painted them blue............Yuck! I couldn't stand the color, it was too dark ( I love the light blue caliper, like on Bradfords TT...oh yeah, but couldn't find that color). So I repainted them red. They came out really nice. I used the Duplicolor brand, and brushed it on, without removing the brakes. Decal letters with clearcoat over them.

FisterD: Nice job. (Also, nice clean wheel wells.) Any special advice on prep, masking, brushing etc. I need to do mine and would really appreciate any help. Thanks.

Darin, I have 2 questions......

2. Where do I get the paint and decals

I hit the bad caliper with some sandpaper to knock the chips off. Then used a small wire brush. The kit comes with caliper cleaner spray for the final cleaning. I didn't use the brush that came with the kit, but bought a nicer artist type brush. Just be careful and keep pulling the loose bristles out of the brush as you go. Once they are in the paint they are hard to get out. Also put on light coats. They will fill in and smooth out as you go. As far as masking, I did not mask anything off. I felt very confident painting in the tight areas, and had no problems. I coated the calipers 3 times. By the time you finish the last one, the first is ready for another coat, so it works out fine. Just be patient, and use smooth strokes.

Kelly, yo Bro! When you coming back to the 993 fold. ( You will always be part of our family! )

Cool. I've been here for a month and I have not seen a 993 or any other air cooled Porsche, on the water cooled side all I've seen is 1 986. Where the heck are all the Porsches in NC?
