Of course they do! How much did tehy want for it, and did they also recommend changing turn signal fluid?

Seriously, why would one update DME? Did they mean replacing DME relay ($40), perhaps? I'm at a loss.

BTW, where are you located? There's a decent white '96 cab here in Boston for $29K with similar miles.

Aha, that makes more sense. DME relays do die with age and tend to need replacement. Most of us, I think, do not replace them preventively, we just carry an extra in a glove box.

The relay can be bought for about $25 and changed very quickly if the car doen;t start, so it's a minor thing.

Clutch should not be hard for you to DYI. As a price comparison, I got a quote of $1860 parts and labor for a regular 993 clutch or $2500 for the LFW and RS clutch from a very reputable independent in Boson area. That included RMS as well.

jimbo3 That's the dealer price for the clutch. I was going to use that as a bargaining chip.

$hit then... you can do your own ppi. you know then it's a pretty damn good deal! esp. in socal!!!

bol w/ the car.... come to a malibu funrun sometime w/ it.

Personally, on my '88, 968 and the 993 I replaced the relay in the car w/ the new one and kept the old as the spare. Of course all 3 were the "old style/ p/n" relays in the cars when I took possession.
