Default 993 Satnav

Hi all,

I'm in the process of purchasing a 97 Turbo S-spec (pics on the "CanCan" thread in the 993Turbo forum), and I was wandering if any or you have any experience of fitting a satnav screen in a 993 (or even if this is possible due to the shape of the dash).

Ideally I'm looking to fit an Alpine Nav with folding screen and an iPod interface - thereby getting rid of the changer greedily taking up the whole of the glovebox.

Any info greatly appreciated.

Think I'll have to go with a seperate Mio/TomTom, and a standard iPod Alpine head-unit (ugh, I hate them)...

Don't really feel like hacking up the interior, especially as the car (my car hopefully later this week) is 'from-the-factory' stock... (apart from all the factory upgrades, of course)...

why dont you try to find a traffic pro? it fits perfectly, it has sat/nav and it looks factory stock.

The first gen traffic pros were cleared out 1-2 years ago (price was pretty cheap for a radio-NAV so I bought one even though I had no immediate use for it) and then there was an updated version with improved cosmetics but much higher price. IIRC, these were at crutchfield, SW Stereo and other Becker distributors. I've seen both on ebay from time to time or you may be able to source one from Becker NA.
