Default 10-30 mobil 1 or 10-40 other brand??

Ok, I did searches but would like an answer for my specific situation...
car has 90k miles, daily driver, and I live in Denver which has mild winters but occassionally it will be extremely cold (maybe a total of a week a year) with temps approaching 0.
I also plan on tracking the car (2-3 events per year).

thanks for the input? Or a different grade other than above?

I'd definitely recommend running different oils in the winter versus summer, especially since you're doing some track events. 0W-40 or 5W-40 synthetic in winter and 15W-50 in the summer.

I don't think anyone will recommend 10W-30. I've been mixing it with 15W-50 for winters, but that's about the only use for it.

So, I'm planning on tracking it in a couple weeks but it will also be a daily this winter...what do you guys think about 5-40 synthetic of course?

Assuming you aren't planning any Denver Winter DEs, you need to use a different oil in the winter vs summer. You should be changing the oil every 6 months in that climate in any event.

You can use M1 0w40 or Shell Rotella T 5w40 for all seasons. Both are very highly rated oils and will protect at temperature extremes.
