Toyo Proxes T1R update
It's been about 6 months and 3,000 miles, so I thought I'd provide an update on the Toyos I got with my wheels back in March.
In short, they've been great. My car's a daily driver with a relatively short round-trip cummute (~20 miles), and I've found the tires to be very quiet and comfortable. Compared to the P-Zeros I had before, the ride is just more smooth and compliant.
I've done one Autocross as well, and was duly impressed with the grip and handling. Granted, my frame of reference is limited but the instructor who rode with me for the first few runs thought that the car as a whole handled VERY well, and was actually surprised when he learned which tires I was running.
The wear appears to be even, and has not been profound over these first 3k miles... my rear P-Zeros, in contrast, were definitely showing wear at this point.
Bottom line? I'm very pleased with them and at around $800 for the set (mounted and balanced), the price is right too. I'm running 225-40 and 285-30 on 18" wheels, by the way.
Hope this helps. Cheers, and Fight On!

My M5 came with the T1S's. When they wore out a few months back I put the T1R's on. They've been great on that car as well. I must admit if they had not come on the car, I probably would have never tried them. I may consider them for the C4S one day but that will be awhile since I just put Bridgestone S02a's on.
