Default Valentine 1 Concealed Display, The Best I've Seen

...but, I don't know how to do it. I found these pictures of a slick Valentine One concealed display in a Callaway Range Rover...Does anyone have a DIY for this...without a doubt, the best VOCD that I have seen.

I have one in my car. There is a company out of CA that makes them, really neat, but kind of expensive.

Opening up windows in the silvering should be easy with a razor and some masking tape. Fitting the display is another issue entirely.

Best to pick up a couple junkyard mirrors and experiment.

I thought they quit making these. Are they still available?

I'm actually not a fan of having the display up on the mirror where everyone around me can see it, and where I would have to take my eyes off the road. The stealth installs below to me are more interesting as well as Robin's in-the-tach-display DIY on p-car.com

You might inquire with Daniel at Beastpower.com. Link below to a cool piece that they sell for BMW M5

I bought mine with the V1 in the rear view mirror and the control in the console next to my E-brake. It's frickin great. I hear they're expensive to put in. But you can buy the mirror prewired. I don't even know where the sensors are in my car though...

David in LA - That looks sweet! - now how to get that to work in a cab... Is that in an A8?
LeMarquis - No receipts from the prior owner? Where is the main box located?

I should go searching one of these days. My mechanic has all the receipts but he didn't do that install. Never actually met the original owner, that's how much I trust my mechanic. The **** is in the center console so assume the rest minus the sensors are in there too. I can't find a sensor on my car or the box. All you can see is the **** and the display cut out of the rear view. Never missed a radar trap either. I would take a picture but my cameras packed for my trip.

The one I've seen is Invisimirror, but they only make them for BMW and the NSX from what I can tell. Slick, but I heard that during the day, you can get a glare that makes seeing the display difficult. It's best when the reflection in the mirror is dark...otherwise, seeing the red lights can be hard.

There was a write up on one of the BMW pages a long time ago. The poster was teaching people how he did a mirror install. Apparently, clearing out the reflective part is somewhat more difficult than just scraping it off with a razorblade, if you want it clean. I recall some nasty stuff needed, like some degree of acid cleaning or something.
