Your widebody Hollow Spokes weight 19.95lbs up front and 25.13 lbs in the rear.

The BBS LM's you are interested in weigh 22.3lbs up front and 24lbs in the rear. However, the offsets on the rear are at ET56. You'll need a 15mm spacer to "push out" the rim so she sits close to factory offset of ET40. The spacer can weigh an additional 2-3 lbs.

I doubt the negligible weight increase is anything you'll be able to sense on the"buttmeter". But rotational mass weight increases, I've been told, have a 4 to 1 ratio compared to non-rotational mass weight.

I was lucky enough to scoop the BBS LM's that were for sale here earlier in the week for $2k. I'll let you know how they feel after they are mounted and will post pics.

So they are heavier? I really thought the BBS rims would be lighter! I'm looking for lighter rims than the hollow spokes, anybody knows the alternatives?

thanks

IMO - stick with the wheels you have. It's one of the nicest examples of a 993 on this board.
Cheers,

I always lose this link :

http://members.rennlist.com/911pcars/WheelWts.html

Gives you lots of weights for the different wheels for our cars.

I think your wide body rear is gonna be 25.13 lb not 23.

Still good value...

Would the 2002 Carerra 5 spoke rim that some here have on their cars nto be a lighter wheel. Or maybe a GT3 wheel if weight is the object. Sorry i dont have pics. Im still on BONE STOCK. The slope is getting harder and harder to stay off of.

Guys, whilst we are on the subject of wheels...

I have a chance to do something for the community if there is enough interest. I could have the below wheels probably made in the right offset for us in 17" or 18" sizes. So far the 17" 17x9 wheel should be about 17 lbs.

That is all preliminary and I'm trying to figure out whether there is enough interest and at, perhaps, what price range. Of course before anything is realized and finalized I'll talk to John to see if he would want the manufacturer to become a sponsor or if we can run it as a group buy or what would be the right way to do this to benefit the community.

So, what do y'all think?
