Default 997TT - first wheel time ..

The Acadia PCA Chapter held our annual 'show & shine' today - a perfect summer day for swapping lies, sharing stories, and lunching on grilled goodies: We had 16 - 18 cars, which was a good turnout .... in this sparsely populated area where some drove 3-5 hours to arrive. BTW, of these cars, there were no two of the same model specs ... and practically one of everything except a 914.
A special plus was the brief escape made under the envious eyes of our friends by the PO of our C4S and me in his new 997TT: He gladly demonstrated the thrust of this car as we disappeared into the winding roads of the back country ... then we swapped seats for the return run. A couple of clicks to get used to the short shifter , very light clutch, and response to the throttle: then, it was time to play 'point & squirt' with 2nd and 3rd gears on the short straights between bends - where the PCCB's came into play before the next apex.
What a rush!! : This car has more non stop go power than anything I've ever driven on public roads - and is absolutely linear and predictable: This is one amazing P-car, and a significant technical advancement .. but all that aside - what a rip to drive!
By comparison - well, there isn't one really - and that wasn't the point of this: our C4S will deliver all we need to keep us smiling, even though is takes more work with the gearbox to stay in the much smaller sweet zone. Everyone there was of similar views, equally enjoying the attributes of others cars as much as their own. A good P-car day ....

But - it sure is nice to try on another set of wheels .. If you get the occasion, don't pass it up!
