Pebble Beach and 993s
It's been a week since I was lucky enough to attend the Pebble Beach Concours and Monterey Historic races, a delight for any car enthusiast. Among the many unusal automotive sightings was the incredible amount of 993s about. All colors and types, seemingly all in very cared for condition. I am keenly aware that there are more of these cars in this area than home here in south east Michigan, but I would swear that there were more 993s than 996s or 997s present. A case of the real enthuiasts showing up? Any other rennsters out there last weekend?

I drove up from So Cal and met Pong (CP on this board) and we went to Pebble Beach on Sunday. We both have Ruf cars (he has a BTR), and we met Alois & Estonia Ruf. An INCREDIBLE show.

I was there with my Arena Red 993 Cab. I thought I saw Waldo's twin brother on Ocean in Carmel one night. I did not go to the Concourse this year, the marques did not thrill me, but I lived at Laguna Seca. We were parked in the Porsche Corral. There were a lot more 993s this year than last and we were told that our car was cool several times. On Friday we went to the outlets in Gilroy and then Blasted through Hecker Pass on our way to Moss Landing to a late lunch at Plils Seafood. There were a coulple of 993s parked there.
It was a good trip for us and we look forward to next year.

I also saw an arena red TT, a black TT, and a couple of silver 993s... all on Sunday either parked at the beach or near the show. I may actually buy a ticket for next year.
