I was only comparing them to the Continentals in terms of overall grip - which is accurate. The Sumis are just as grippy as the Contis (although I doubt they'd remain that way after a lap on the track). That does not mean they're good tires. They're completely unpredictable, completely inconsistent. Continentals are very consistent, very progressive at the limit. The two tires are night and day, you're right.

Default Sumitomo's For Cheap

I have the same tires on my '97 C4S. They came on the car. Compared to track tires and other high end tires they are fine, just not awsome. The ride is smooth and they are great around town. I'm replacing mine with Pilot Sport PS2s.

If you want a deal on two nearly new fronts (225/40-18) and rears that are 50% worn (265/35-18), you can have them all for $250 + shipping.

Considering I've just offered mine with 95% tread remaining for $300 shipped, I doubt you'll have any takers. And after my review, I doubt I'll have any takers either
