Default Weather strip around sun roof

not sure if its weather stripping or a weather seal, but this black cord has come loose around the rearward section of the sun roof. was going to be lazy and use a little 3M weather stripping glue (some stuff I used on my SC to replace the sun roof mechanism) to re-attach. But I'm wondering if I ought to simply replace the whole deal with new.

slings and arrows welcomed...

Mine came looose also on one side, considering putting a dab of 3m weathstrip glue to secure back in place. I don't see replacing the enter piece unless its frayed, but that's me.

Mine came loose about two months back and was badly freyed ... so I replaced it. A royal pain in the rear, but it is done. I wouldn't have done it if the condition was good and not leaking in our moist environs.

I saw a seal replacement the other day and the top of the black felt strip extended above the roof sheet metal by about 1/16 inch or so, it looked really funny, kinda like a (long) black caterpillar had been used as the seal!! Me thinks best to try to use a little 3M where and as necessary........

regards, gary

The new ones do look a little high. I think most people put them in and then run around the edhe with a razor - making it flush with the roof. I would 3m yours..
