Default Michael Jordans 97 Turbo S on Ebay-$199k and its yours

There is a funny comment on the questions section of the auction. Then if you do the math, buying a $160k car and putting $20k in options only adds up to $180k. Where does the $19k increase in price come from on the original purchase if you want to buy it now? "Not that there's anything wrong with that"

Q: So did this belong to a guy named Michael Jordan, but not the NBA star? Kind of like that Seinfeld episode where George buys John Voight's LeBaron thinking it was Jon Voight's old car?

A: how many michael jordans do you know that can buy a $160,000.00 car and add another $20,000 in options?

I like the fact that the next most expensive item in that sellers "store" is:
Surprising UFO Photo! Story & Rights Can Be Yours! for the low, low price of $4,900.

Nothing like selling UFO pictures to add to your credibility

Not to mention - "The car is in Seattle" yet there are Florida plates on the car. It would make me wonder how long ago the car was at that odometer reading.

I guess to answer the question "how many michael jordans do you know that can buy a $160,000.00 car and add another $20,000 in options?"

My answer would be the same number of people that are trying to sell the rights to UFO sightings.

Now if there was bubble gum stuck on the rear left tire that was in the shape of the Virgin Mary, I might be interested.

This weeks AutoWeek has Jerry Seinfelds 9(7?) Turbo S for sale at $225,000.00. I guess being Jerry Seinfeld rates $26,000 more than being Michael Jordan.

I seriously doubt this is the Michael Jordon 993 TTS...... I live in Chicago, and although Michael does not live full-time in Chicago anymore, his family does..... He still maintains two homes on the north shore as well......

All of this leads to the following..... One of the major high-line restoration shops (also in the north shore) performed a full detail on my C2S just after I bought my car...... The owner walked me through his storage facility, which contains roughly 15 of Jordon's cars (personalized "MJ **" plates on each)......

Jordon continues to store the bulk of his collection with this firm, as he has since his playing days with the Bulls.......

I have seen Jordon's 993 TTS in person, and it is Arena Red with Black interior....... I have not heard of another car with this combination...... I had my camera with me, but the owner asked my not to take pictures...... I saw 5 Ferrari's (2 of which carry production number 23)..... A Mercedes-McLaren..... An Aston Martin....... One 993 TTS.... One 993 TT...... One 996 TT cab.... I do not recall the rest of the collection......

I think this is another ebay idiot......

(sorry, I couldn't resist and, with my spelling, I really cannot talk!)

What I want to know is does Michael Jordan or Jerry Seinfeld owning these cars make them worth any more than any other turbo S? Just because someone farted in a seat doesn't make it worth a penny more to me at least as long as they are still alive.

The car should be valued based on current market and not because someone owned it. There are some very nice low mileage turbo S's out there for sale for a lot less than they are asking here.

In any event, I'd rather have Jo(h)n Voight's Le Baron

Cobalt, I agree. I couldn't care less who the PO of my cars have been and it always amuses me that there is a huge premium attached to these "celebrity" cars. What I want to know is who actually does? Who puts a value on such things?
