Default How do you know if you have the Porsche....

Factory Motorsound package? I can't find anything on the car that says I have one. The dealer told me it did, but hey! I mean it sounds great and all that but are there any tell tale signs I can look for?
Looked at the options codes but it wasn't there.
Also, the tips are ugly so they are getting changed regardless. Might even go the RSR path. Trying to avoid that slippery slope at all costs
Cheers

If the option code isn't on the list on the car, it didn't come from the factory if you have the parts installed. Look at the airbox, and if it has a chrome intake and many small holes on the flat side it is a MS airbox. The mufflers are more difficult to ID when on the car, but the tips are slightly different as I recall. You will want replace them anyway.

From what I have read some countries have different motor sound packages. Apparently in some countries you only get a differnt air box cover. My car has the option code and the air box cover, and to be honest the RSRs are ten times better. I don't think the UK had differnt mufflers.

The part numbers for the mufflers should be different to the normal ones, that's probably the best way to tell if you have it or not.

Sorry, I meant the mufflers as they are not "sound" enough for me, or most.

Sorry again, my comments were specific to the USA, and I didn't notice the location of the original post.

Thanks guys.
I will crawl under the car and get the numbers and search the previous posts. The airbox looks standard with no little holes. I am guessing the dealer took a wild guess. I know the Fabspeeds are a lot louder, well they were on the previous 3.6 Turbo anyway.
I am sure this exhaust is stock. Tucked again!
Bull. Your are right about the tips. They are in need of some fabspeeds. They just look so much better IMO.

Gleaned from previous posts on this board, here are the part numbers for the mufflers, visible form under the car without removing anything:

993 111 045/046 04 - Manufactured by Bischoff
993 111 045/046 07 - Manufactured by Bischoff, M159 (Motorsound Option)
993 111 045/046 11 - Manufactured by Gillett
993 111 045/046 12 - Manufactured by Gillett, M159 (Motorsound Option)

"045/046" refers to left and right ,but I can't remember which is which.
