Default 993 interior trim

I would like to change the interior colour of a silver 993 cabrio to boxster red, which in IMHO the greatest colour combination. The seat leather and carpets can be easily replaced (at a price) by a good coachtrimmer. However, elements such as the dash and the inside tops of the doors are more problematic. Does anyone have any idea whether these parts can be sourced or whether there is any way to change the colour of those parts already present to boxster red, such as covering with them with boxster red leather? I have been advised that products which claim to recolour plastics are pretty unreliable, and not the solution. I am looking for a top notch finish and don't want to compromise. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Anthony

You might keep an eye out for complete interiors that come up for sale from Pcar dismantlers (LA dismantlers comes to mind), but that's a very long shot with boxster red. Are you planning this as a DIY?

I would keep some of the more difficult pieces to change (ie dash) black and go for a two-tone black/red interior. I would keep the dash, center console and carpet black and change the seats and doorpanels to red.

David has a great idea. The two tone red/black looks great.

That is indeed gorgeous! But I think it important to have a red dash and inside tops of the doors. However it seems these plastic parts are the the harest thing to change. Does anyone know if the plastics can be covered in red leather with a professional finish? I wouldn't be doing it DIY.Thses photos are not a cabrio, but they are what interested me initially.

Default that is really helpful

yeh, I am in the UK. And what you say is really interesting. Who are the people you mention, because I spoke to a coachtrimmer whao said he couldn't do anything with the plastic pieces. Covering them in leather would be perfect!!!!!!

my dash was standard 964/993 .
as were all the factory leather ones to start with !!!!
i'll get you an email address for dan at southbound , last time i spoke to him to get other dash parts booked in for trimming , he was doing a 993 in black leather with yellow stitching , if its still there you might wanna go take a look . the stiching will be perfect
as it is stiched around the binacle ( as factory cars are ) this has to be spot on !!

As the americans would say, that is awesome! I am looking for a silver cabrio to buy, and then change the interior as most come in grey. I was under the impression the dash etc were plastic on most 993's. but if they are leather, that solves all my problems. I usually don't like silver cars but with red leather they look so fat!

That looks very very well done, and the dark leather is not what I meant by grey. it is the very pale grey i don't like, but in the 90's that was very popular.
So what I really need to find is one with leather dash etc. Please would you send me the email or phone number of the guy at southbound?
