Welcome, and great looking car! All good info above. I would say that your oil level gauge is not functioning properly, but as some have said, you can ignore it and just use the dipstick. On my 993s, i have had the gauge functioning properly and get a reading in the lower half of the gauge when the dipstick is at half. Each car is different, but you can learn your car's gauge/dipstick relationship if you get the gauge working right.

If you want more air to come through the windshield vents and floor vents when the slides are full to the right, close the dashboard vents (partially or all of the way).

That pic looks like the upper west side of Manhattan to me. If thats the case - be careful with your lowered suspension. Ask me how I know.....

Actually Upper East. And I'll ask - how do you know?

I try not to drive it around the island too much but when I do I sure annoy all the yellow cabs as I skirt every pothole at 8 MPH!

Congratulations. Good looking car and only 14k miles!!! Good luck with everything.

I'm a relatively new owner as well, only 3 weeks now so I can't really answer your questions with the experience many other have.

However, when you are ready to get rid of the speedlines, I may be very interested. Are they 17" or 18"? Please keep me advised.

Hi Mark, Nice looking car!

As is usual here, the previously posted tips are spot on, but since no one mentioned it....
When reading the oil level on the dipstick, make certain you look for the true level as indicated by a solid wet band across the entire width of the stick. Since the stick and tube are quite long, the twisted portion has a tendency to pick up oil from inside the tube during removal, which will show up as wetting on the edges of the stick only.

Cheers, Mark.

Nice car...very nice...welcome.

I lived/worked in NYC for many years, I can't imagine driving a pcar up there. BQE, FDR, Broadway..potholes..eech.

Oh..my gauge has a mind of its own. Most of the time it's stuck in the red until I start driving hard. Probably the sender is gone.

Goodluck.

Hi and welcome ......glad to see unlike some others that you became a member before starting to ask questions ....nice looking car ...........all the answers about give you what this board is about.....on reading the dipstick .... esp if the oil is fresh and therfore clean and clear...it is easier to read in strong light, sunlight or a good set of indoor lights.....you will be able to see the level much easier....oh and by the way if you can see the level well enough in low light you need an oil change
If you intend to do your own work on the car and mods also you will find p-car.com very useful.
Welcome and good luck.
