Default Attention Batphone owners

I'm about ready to rip out the factory cell phone and replace the panel with one having a guage or two and a Bluetooth hands-free kit such as this one. Has anyone done anything similar? Questions:
1. will the factory microphone work (impedance, output, etc.) with the Motorola kit? I understand a different plug may be required.
2. Does the factory phone mute the audio system and does it use the audio speakers or something separate?

Just hoping for some words of wisdom from someone who has trod the trail.

I do not know the specific answers to the questions you ask (as they relate to the 993), but suggest you do some research regarding phone compatability. I had a nokia car BT car kit, and when I switched to a Sony phone it didn't work well (necessitating a change to a Sony BT car kit). Upon further research, I learned that some BT car kits are more flexible than others. Just FYI.

Related to the 'mute' question, my experience was with an Audi S4 and it was fairly straightforward to get the radio to mute -just needed to connect a single wire to a specific input on the back of the radio (but don't know specifics for the 993).

Yes I have this in one of my cars.It is one of the best car kits I have had and I have had allot of car kits. This kit will sink up to 4 phones and if the phone is Motorola it will use the voice tags you have set in the phone.
