Default Seat height

Is there any way to maximize head room in my 993? I am open to any and all possibilities. I have a sun-roof of course.

My car has what I believe are the standard seats, the driver's side has the powered adjustablity (awkward phrase but y'all get it I bet).

Thanks in advance.

Have an upholstery shop remove some seat padding. Put some spacers under the front allen bolts (find longer allen bolts) to tilt the seat back a bit. I had to to remove padding and do the tilt with my GT3 seats.

General consensus seems to be GT3 seats with BK (Brey Krause) brackets and Sparco sliders.

Do these brackets and sliders offer some of the same benefit to the stock 993 seats? If so, where does one source them?

No, that bracket/slider combo is for the GT3 seats. I'm not aware of anything you can do with stock seats to provided more headroom short of taking out some of the padding.

I had to put 1 inch spacer blocks to raise the seats to my prefered height. I am 5'8" and like sitting high.

You must be a giant if you have had the padding taken out of the seat and still find it too high.

Cheers

No I has to do with us TALL guys wearing a helmet in the car. At 6'3" I had to make up spacers and rails to get my GT3 seats raked back enough to fit me with a helmet. I also had to cut the seat side rails to acheive this.

No one has mentioned reinstalling the seat in the rear-most rail holes (a very simple DIY)... I did this (I'm 6'6"), and am much more comfortable with both leg- and head-room.

Ah! Now that is more like it. Jeff...is it a simple DIY even for someone who is fairly inept at wrenching? Is the car sent from the factory with the seat in the _______rail-holes (please fill in the blank)?

Thanks in advance for the info.

Factory in the front holes, there is a second set that gets you about another inch. All you need is the correct alan wrench size 6mm. Key is slow steady force applied so as not to strip the heads. There is a slidy thing in the rails that the bolt threads into. Just slide it back to the second set, screw them back in and you're done. Very quick and easy as long as you don't strip the bolt. I'll search for the thread DIY thread on this that I used and post if I can find it.

Question I am Only 5`8. Can my driver seat height be raised?

Hi Everyone,

I am only 5`8 and really would like to sit a bit higher-up then my power seat allows. Is there a simple way of raising my seat one or two inches.?

As always thanks everyone

The rear most mounting holes will get you about an inch of additional headroom and seat travel. However, if wearing a helmet is the issue, you will likely need to do more than this simple fix. I went to after market seats bolted directly to the floor, which gives me about 1/4 inch of clearance with my helmet on.
