C4S: RWD Conversion
#19
Adams, you are not revving it up enough you should see much more tire slip if you go to 5k RPMS and drop the clutch!!!
The 2WD conversion will save you about 100lbs. it is a great conversion, the best I have done on my car. But I would not do it on yours, since it is not a track car and it is just too nice of a car.

As Jean stated, you are probably better leaving the car as is. If it was a track car, then that may be a different story. I have sold a kit to a number of track guys with great results. For the street through, you will not see much difference and as stated you may be better in your climate with the added traction...

Actually, I'd probably do it too. Except not if I did a lot of street driving in a rainy climate, like, ohhhhh, say,....Washington.

I lov eposting serious questions here. A lot of you guys lended great opinions, but then the others love to chime in and give rude responses. ANyhow, I don't DROP my clutch...sorry, and I dont rev up much...what I should have said is "when i am having an aggressive" launch I seem to have minimal rear wheel traction. I suppose since my car isn't a track car i shouldt do this mod. Also, I thoughtt that the C4S wasnt a rare car.....adn that the C2S was FAR more rare. Of course I am not trying to make my car a C2S.....I have just ALWAYS owned AWD cars...and was seeing if the car would be more fun to drive as a RWD car. Anyhow, I apreciate your help guys.....atleast from those who were attempting to help. THANKS!

Since we are on the topic of weird mods,
I was wondering, I am pretty darn tired of that annoying clutch and H box. How can I convert my manual gearbox into an auto or smg? Can I add paddle shifters. I live here in Los Angeles where we have lots of traffic lights and I hate having to go to neutral all the time. Especially when I am drinking my starbucks coffee in the morning.
Also, those darn pesky xenon lights are conflicting with my contact lenses. Can someone please recommend a more Yellow alternative? Oh yeah, one last thing, the rear engine thing, what a pain in the butt. I can't even find the oil dipstick. Anyone know how to make a 911 a forward mounted engine...
Just kidding Adam..
If were going to take time to do weird mods to our precious cars, my vote is get rid of that damn DRIVE BLOCK SYSTEM.. How many times have we all looked like an *** trying to start our cars?

I just figured since these higher HP turbo guys were doing it, there must be some benefit. Even for daily driving, a lighter car feels faster...and a 100+ lb drop is pretty substantial i would think. Maybe I should just diet.

C2S's are definitely more rare.
If you are really up for it, then do it. It can always be returned to it's stock condition. If you do decide to do it, please let us know all about it and how the drive is.

Finally, someone who admits that losing weight on your person makes sense. In a "former life" I owned some bicycle stores and it was staggering the lengths that "fat bastards" would go to lighten their bikes so it would climb better. Ride the bike more, lose the weight yourself, slay some Euro pro's then the weight savings might make a difference. Same applies here (IMHO).
