As customary in your first post, I would like to introduce myself. Currently a 1977 911S is feeding my Porsche addiction. She is my first Porsche and owned her since 2001. I'm a DIYer and have found it to be one of the joy's of ownership, mostly because she is not a daily driver. I've got 25+ days of DE experience and have started craving more power. Lately, another has caught my eye...she has wider hips and appears from my casual glances to have what I want and need...more power! But all this will come at a cost, selling my beloved and possibly the strain of learning she is something I don't need. Am I delusional or is she meant for me?
Signed,
Hopelessly in Love
Your cravings and needs are understandable. Yes... she sure is a beauty and more power too. Best of all no leaks. You will be able to take her out to the track and back home and she won't skip a beat. I say fallow your heart and satisfy your needs. Be a part of what we call "993 ecstasy" Good luck we are all counting on you.
I was in the same boat about a year ago with my '77 911 targa, I took the leap and never looked back. I LOVE this car, set up for street / track and she handles both with ease. Sure a little less raw and the bigger hips and creature comforts adds some weight, but driving in 100 degree heat is a pleasure with a real A/C system and the sound when I open her up (motorsound, RSR's) is SWEET!
My .02
Good Luck with your search.
i think that this dilemna is never solved... as much as i LOVE my car, i am contantly in thoughts of selling for a 993 tt... why? well because i need more hp of course...
Previous cars: 80 SC, 85 Cab Euro, 85 930 Euro. I miss them all but I just bought a 95 993 Cab and I can tell you it's everything you're used to...just all around better. Finding someone who will appreciate your loved one will help you part with her.
OMG! This is spreading faster than the bird flu...........I have owned older 911's too and none could hold a candle to my 993 for sheer drivability and performance.
Your soon to be ex won't mind you getting a younger chassis as long as you sell her to a loving home.

Jonathan,
I have the same dilemma- I love my car, but I have been bitten by the TT bug. I guess I should have never driven that 550hp monster a couple of years ago...
Maybe I should just skip the 993NA and go straight to the TT! No wait, I'll stick with the original plan , the TT cause me to lust after a CGT...it never ends
BTW, how do I add info in the signature line? Does it unlock after so many posts?

You need to be a Rennlist member to setup a signature line. If you did pay for membership, contact Jenn as it sometimes takes a week or two to get your status updated. Once updated, the signature can be modified via the "User CP" option in the upper left.
