I had to do a double take when I saw this...
That's gonna be fun to smell and I can only wonder how well the brakes will work (not to mention the heat/cooling issue potential)

"The first time you hit the brake the car will not stop and you will hit a wall and bink your head on the steering wheel"

yeah, it makes me wonder if the guy is opening himself up to a lawsuit for even selling them...
I would have advertised them as 'for show purposes ONLY' ....just like the people with the fully chromed rotors at shows (you know, the cars that never get driven and are only about the show)

"" The first time you hit the brakes the powder coat will be removed from just the face of the disk. ""
....and into your pads..
Love to see the poor fool try to remove those rotors from the wheel flange after a few heat cycles..
And what about the powdercoater, shouldnt they have advised against this??
Sheeesh, now I have seen everything!

Aside from not stopping , the next worst attribute is deposition of an irregular coating on a dimensionally correct machined surface - the rotors inner flange must be true to the hub surface, or there will be a pulsation in the hydraulics .... lag in application ... etc

I guess if you have some art project (or want to make a clock) the new powdercoated rotor would be an interesting thing to use but to actually put it on a car would be suicide (or at least some nice damage)

Wow...unbelievable...I personally have powdercoated rotors for some of my cars in the past - but the powdercoating establishment gave me a special heat resistant blue tape to cover the surfaces on the rotors that have contact with brake pads - so when they apply the powdercoat, you can peel off the tape and reveal the unpowdercoated face and back of the rotor...Granted it took me quite a while to properly tape and cut out the areas that I needed, but it was worth it in the end....I just cant see doing what this clown has proposed...You never want to screw with your brakes...

I wonder is these are really "powder-coated"....any powder coat that I have ever done sure would not burn off to dust with just a few 15MPH stops......
Perhaps more of a metal plating process ? similar to an anodizing, or "black chrome" like finish on tools...?
