--UPDATE--

Today, I decided to attempt to see if I could see an obvious problem before taking it to the shop. After only tearing down to the shifter and being able to see the linkage, I attempted to shift the gears. Low and behold the shifter was very notch becoming less notchy with every shift. Eventually, everything seemed to become less binding and returned to the normal smooth shifting.

I really don't have an explanation because the car went from completely being unable to shift into 2,4,6, into a hot knife through butter.

The only thing that I noticed was the shifter handle had slid to far up the lever, which maybe didn't provide the correct leverage??? This seems like a weak explanation at best.

I did notice that the upper linkage has a slight bend, but I'm not sure if that is normal.

Thanks for everyone's help.
