Question clutch

I asked the other day about wrenches in ATL to do my clutch. Today the LWF came up which begs the question, what do I need to plan on buying while I'm waiting for clutch replacement time? Ok a LWF + what type/brand clutch? What else should I have done while the clutch is being replaced? Is this the slippery slope I keep hearing about? How many divorces has this slope caused ?

Why bother? I find smoothest shifts are if I keep a little gas applied during upshifts. This is on a '95 C2.

Isnt there a chance of transmission damage from shifting without the clutch?

Your best bet is to buy genuine Porsche parts (the clutch is manufactured by Sachs).

Possibly replace the clutch slave cylinder and the rubber connecting hose, it will depend on your mileage. At the very least make sure your clutch slave cylinder is bled after the clutch/LWF installation.

My clutch does not release.
I recently did a clutch job on my 85 944.
I replaced:
Pressure plate, disc, release bearing, master cylinder, slave cylinder, blue hose, and clutch line.
I did everything by the book as to procedure, etc.
My clutch release arm moves as it should, (visible thru inspection hole), yet my clutch does not disengage when pedal is pushed to the floor.
I too have been through 3 bottles of brake fluid and have been using a pressure bleeder, as well as good old fashioned up-down method, and a vacuum pump too.
What have I missed?

Default Clutch won't release

OMG
I just read a thread about Sachs clutch discs being mis-labeled and being installed
with the flywheel side out instead of against the flywheel.
Is this possible on a 944?

Jim,
You might ask that question on the 944 forum. While I'm a big fan of 944s, I don't know anything about the mechanics of them.
