Interested in pricing for the HANS by itself. Have seats and harnesses already.

Model 20. Medium with quick disconnect tethers.

Default HANS

I supposedly have two Recaro SPG XL's on order (have been waiting 10 weeks already with no firm delivery date--I'm being told that Recaro has a serious backorder). Also have brackets on order.

If either falls through, I would be interested in purchasing these items through the group buy.

Regardless, I am interested in a HANS Model 20, size M, probably with the quick release tethers.

Thanks,
Fred

Thanks.

Before getting people aroused, why doesn't someone call a vendor, see if one will even do a GB, and then go from there. At most your going to get a 15-20% discount, and since Recaro doesn't authorize selling under retail, I bet its going to be hard. Just a suggestion as I am in the market for seats; Recaro Pole Positions or SPGs to be specific, and no one period will budge on prices except for SRD/Speeds.

whakiewes is correct. I've been a Recaro dealer in MN and now MO for about 11-12 years. There is not a whole lot of margin between dealer net and list price. After a nominal discount of say 10% and paying a credit card processing fee, it's almost not worth the hassle. I really doubt if you'll get anyone to do anything close to a 20% discount delivered.

Another thing to keep in mind is that Recaro will not drop ship directly to customers, but they do not charge shipping directly to a dealer. A local dealer with a nominal discount may be a better deal than a little more discount plus shipping from elsewhere. These seats are big and can be expensive to ship. As an example, I recently purchased a pair of seats, (currently backordered from Recaro), from another dealer and paid $120 to ship them to MO.

They are currently severely backordered on racing shells (which are now all being produced in Germany).

If you can't find a nearby Recaro dealer on their website, call Recaro and ask for your closest dealer. Not all of us are listed on the website.

Russ, I'm in W. St. Louis County if you'd like assistance here.

Just my $.02. FVD should be willing to do it. I was at their store today and mentioned this potential group buy. They seemed receptive. They are very courteous and helpful. BTW, I was able to pick up a pair of light grey sport Toplines for less than 1k apiece! They were on clearance as someone ordered them and then unfortuantely wrecked his car. I will be back there next week to pick up some other backordered stuff so if I can help in any way, let me know.

Sorry, apparently I goofed in posting the prices. Suffice to say they are very good and many Rennlist folks are interested.

Please PM me for info, but here's the seats we have quotes for thus far:

Pole Position Black leather
Pole Position Black/Velour Leather
GT3 Black Leather
Sport Topline Black Leather
Sport Topline Black Leather/Suede
Profi SPG Velour/Black

Brackets (list/GB)
Pole Position Steel
SPG Steel
Recaro 911/993/924/944/964/968
Recaro 996/Boxster

Recaro adapter/spacer 911/924/928/944 08/1973 to 09/1984

I'm getting prices on
SPG XL Velour & black fabric & leather
Pole position in cashmere leather
SR5

Everyone has been very pleased with pricing thus far, so if you are interested, PM me...it seems a great deal based upon the Rennlist volume.

Also, I'm working on the Qs re: shipping internationally, sliders & HANS.

Stay tuned.

Wow!! Sensational deal!! A must have at those prices. BIG thanks for reviving this group buy and doing the "leg work" Are the Pole Positions available for delivery in the near future? I've heard rumours about shortages of shells etc..

Also any idea on FVD's preferred method of payment for non USA buyers and will they ship outside the US? Thanks again!!

FVD is an international company, so I think they will ship anywhere. They would set up an account for you. I believe they would accept credit cards, but I think they would rather not pay the percentage if they do not have to.
