that's the first thought that came in my mind. air is highly compressable, so it would be very difficult to ensure that the clutch is 100% disengaged with this method....

I've never heard of this before, but I wish there was a way of lowering the point where my clutch pedal engages. Could you shorten the piston arm on the slave cylinder?

I agree with this concern. However, I have no problems with what the guy proposes in theory. If you could be sure the clutch fully disengaged, then I would have no problem introducing a little air into the system.

So when I was 16 or so, my friend and I (gearheads from birth ) had an acquaintance with a moped that had a squealing rear brake. It was baaddd, as in you could hear him coming from 1/4mile away. So we (in jest!) tell him that a bit of WD-40 would cure that sqeal ...works in door hinges. ...He did it

I find this quite worrying. If the point at which the clutch bites is causing that much concern look for a mechanical method to cure it. Don't introduce something that the system is designed to keep out.

How about shorten the clutch pedal about 1 inch or so? Better yet making it adjustable.

Clutch? Who needs it? Waste of time.

Just learn to rev-match and slip the tranny into the next gear without it.

My father taught me this when I was 13...... worked like a charm on my worn-out '66 VW.

Scary.... Maybe you should use a stainless steel clutch line that has been cross drilled to save weight...
