Default MOMO airbag light issue

I want to install either a MOMO or 993 RS steering wheel in my '96 993. I have done an exhaustive search regarding the airbag light issue, but I have a question that I can't seem to find the answer for:

I did this swap on my ex-964 RSA, using the 964.652.104.00 horn contact ring, and the 928.612.220.00 "dual airbag disable device". My question is, will the airbag disable device work on a 993, or do I have to install the 2.9 ohm resistor? Or...can I just remove the airbag and "!" light bulbs? We have emission testing where I live, and would pulling the bulbs trip a fault code?

I would prefer to disable both airbags like I did in my RSA.

Thanks in advance for any assistance or suggestions!

Jack:

I installed the RS wheel and used 2 resisters (1 for each bag) from www.airbagonoff.com. Thet were only a couple bucks and did the trick.

Thanks, JMR...I'll try what you suggested. I think I read somewhere that the 928.612.220.00 plug-in airbag disable device for a 964 wouldn't work on a 993, but I couldn't find the thread that addressed this.
