Default What's a good tire pressure for Sport Cup's

On Monday I'm running my first DE with R compound tires - Michelin Sport Cups. For those of you with experience with these tires on a 993, what inflation pressures have you found to work best? Dry track? Wet track?

Dry, 32F 34R hot. Add five lbs for wet but be wary. They are not very good in the wet and standing water is a big problem.

Best,

I start out at much lower cold temps, about 26 front/27 rear. You want to be around 32 to 36 psi for hot pressures, about 180-220 degree tread temps. They need to be pushed really, really hard to get up to proper temps.

Check out this thread that Chris Cervelli started: https://rennlist.com/forums/showthre...c+pressure+hot

Mark is dead on w/Michelin's recommended target hot pressures & temps. I've generally set my pressures using a tire pyrometer. That method has produced good performance & life from my MPSCs. I just checked my data logs for the past few years & my cold morning pressures were usually 26F & 28R. By the end of the day I'd usually bled down to about 24F 26R when cold to keep my temps right as the track heated. I found the tires got slippery with higher pressures.

I don't run the MPSC in the wet for the reasons mentioned by Bob.
