Default NY Tri-State Memorial Sunday Rennlist Run

Updated: 5/27/06

Weather: Sunday, May 28th - High 74° F - Mostly sunny and warm.

******************************************

For those who just tuned in and don't want to read the entire thread, here's what the plans are so far. Please check back from time to time and definitely the day before the run to make sure there are no changes. Thanks!

Here are the plans so far:

Date: Sunday, May 28th

NY/NJ Meeting Time/Spot
Time: Meet @ 7:30 am. Depart by 7:45 am. Hopefully arrive at CT meeting spot by 8:45am. (Please let me know if any of these times are unrealistic).
Meeting Spot: Commuter lot at the gas station by exit 5 on the Palisades Parkway. The rest stop is accessible from both sides of the Palisades, as it's located in the middle of the road.

CT Meeting Time/Spot
Time: Meet @ 8:45 am. Depart by 9:00 am.
Meeting Spot: Purchase, NY on Manhattanville road, which is right off of 684 where it meets the Hutch. There's an office complex with a large lot and easy off/on access to 684 and surrounding roads.
[Map]

Route
The run will start at the Palisades commuter lot (by exit 5) and will proceed up the Palisades --> Tappanzee --> I-684 (meet up with the CT contingency here) --> Rt. 22 North --> Rt. 343 (East/North) --> Rt. 4 East --> Rt. 7 North.
We will end at a breakfast place to get some food and talk cars. Hope to be here by 10:00 am. After, everyone is welcome to stay to check out the Hemmings Car Show @ Lime Rock or if not, head back home.

If you are planning on attending the Hemmings Car Show, here are the details:

Show hours are 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. They are offereing discounted tickets with the CVR PCA:
To order tickets: Go to www.limerock.com. Go to the TICKETS drop down menu, then
to “Affiliate Ticket Sales.” An Affiliate Log In screen will appear. Our affiliate log-in
information is

Here's who we have so far. To keep it interesting and so we'll be able to match the avatar with the car, i've added the car you'll be coming with (I think). I also added the meeting spot where you'll probably be meeting the group. Of course, please let me know if any of this is incorrect.

How about Sunday May 21. There is a PCA concours at the Sheraton in Danbury, CT. They could make a good starting or end point.

That could definitely work. I was thinking of entering my car in the Street Class concours too.

Arrwin,
I'd be interested, most weekends in May/June are good for me. I'd prefer runs that don't take up too much of the day (the honey-do and kid taxi lists get pretty comprehensive starting about now...)

The May 21 PCA concours sounds like a good idea (and there is no F1 race on that weekend :-) )

I am going to do the rally on Saturday as well. Definitely count me in for a Rennlist run on Sunday.

I'm in, although unfortunately, the weekend of the 21st, I'm out of pocket.
Keep me on the list for the *monthly* or *quarterly* event we should pull together! Let's get the dates booked now!

Depending on where you start I can get you some nice routes that end in Danbury.

The only problem I see with having the "run" the same weekend as the CVR PCA event are that the folks participating in the concours event won't be able to make it as it is an all day event on Sunday.

How's the Sunday after, May 28th for everyone? It will actually be a better day for me, but if most people can make the 21st I can swing that too.

Lawrence....will definitely take you up on some suggestions. I'll send you a PM. Thanks.

Arrwin...just got your message and I'll do my best to make it on either weekend.

The 21st is the Scarsdale Concours which could be a stop on the way up or back and the 28th is a Hemmings Event at Lime Rock which could also work into the run for me.

Let me know what works best for the group and I should be there.
